Winner: Hachette Emerging Designer Brittany Irvine

“Brittany has produced a book that completely nails the challenges of the project with a highly functional grid system, intelligent typographic hierarchy, instructive colourways and diagrams.”

We are thrilled to share that senior architectural graduate Brittany Irvine has won the Hachette Aotearoa Emerging Designer award at the PANZ Book Design Awards 2023 for her work on Medium: a technical guide for creating better medium density housing in Aotearoa New Zealand by fellow First Light member Guy Marriage.

We are immensely proud of Brittany’s commitment to the project and her continued contributions to enhanced visual experiences, both within the realm of architecture at the practice and extended to her independent work in graphic design.

Medium was also awarded the Lift Education Award for Best Educational Book or Series in the Secondary/Tertiary category.

Congratulations Brittany, Guy and all those involved!
